Do you enjoy shopping online? Whether it's for food, clothing, or something in between, shopping online is not only easy but very convenient. Unfortunately, if you're not careful, shopping online also be expensive. How can you save money when you shop online? 1 - Join an online Rewards Program Many online programs reward you for making purchases with participating retailers. On a personal note, my favorite MyPoints. You link to participating dealers from MyPoints.com site, your purchase and get points. These points can later be redeemed for gift cards. Some programs even allow you to earn money! These programs are nice because you get rewarded for buying something you would have bought anyways.2 - View Coupon or Discount Code Many shoppers mistakenly believe coupons are for grocery shopping, but they are not. With online shopping, you do not get a real coupon, but a code to use. Many websites have these discount codes for free. Perform a standard internet search to find them. Search by dealer name and the phrase "coupon codes" or "discount codes." Not all dealers offer these discounts for online shoppers, but many do. Enter the code supplied by checkout.3 - Always Price Compare What is nice about shopping online is that you can easily compare prices on 10 or more retailers in the time it can take you to drive to a local shop! How amazing is it? If you are shopping for clothes, it can be difficult to price compare, because we all have our own favorite brands. If you are an Old Navy fan, would you shop there. Everything else, such as clothing are sold to various retailers, movies, books, toys and household appliances, be sure to compare prices first. Visit online sites known retailers or perform a default installation Internet search by name or type of product you are looking for.4 - do not pay high shipping CostsOn a personal note, my biggest pet peeve about shopping online is that some dealers do not tell you their shipping costs until the last minute. I usually find this is one reason, because I do not continue. Never pay too much in shipping. It is best to look for free or discounted shipping. For large orders, rate flat shipping can save you money. Although it kind of defeats the purpose of shopping online, many retailers now allow you to pickup your order at a local store. Do it if you can, and if the cost to ship to your home is too high.5 - Do not buy what you do not NeedAs previously mentioned, shopping online is quick, easy and convenient. Unfortunately, many traders have an impulse problem. It is easier to buy on impulse purchases online because all it takes is one click. The best way to save money shopping online is to only buy what you need.
